"I had State Farm insurance for home and auto for years before moving to Tennessee and always loved the level of service I received. So it was a no brainer to use the local State Farm branch here in Jonesborough when my husband and I bought our house here. They did a fantastic job getting everything set up and we thought we were good... until I received an adverse action letter stating my premium was being returned to me due to a roof that was deteriorating. When we had our home inspection performed there was NOTHING about the roof having any issues whatsoever. So I called them immediately after opening the letter to find out what was going on. I called them twice on Friday afternoon and no one picked up or called me back. What kind of company sends a letter like that without explaining what is going on and leaves their client in distress? I called back the next week and was told by Beverly that she would personally contact the underwriting department to find out what happened. Apparently there was a note in my account that they had left me a voicemail and couldn't reach me. Interesting that I have no record of that voicemail or phone call. To this day I still haven't heard what happened and that was over a week ago!! I also contacted the 3rd party company that State Farm uses to make such decisions. I've never heard of Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions until the day I opened the adverse action letter and not surprisingly you won't find out much about them through internet research but apparently State Farm pays them to give them certain information about your property that can't be found through typical google satellite imagery or public record. How they get this information? Who knows...seems rather scammy to me now. I requested a copy of my "report" through their website and low and behold, got a response from them via USPS mail that they couldn't provide me with a copy as my identity could not be validated. So in summary, State Farm dropped my policy without any kind of explanation save for a scam evaluation done by a scam company who also can't provide me with any information. I dropped my policies from State Farm and advised my family also moving here to steer clear. You would be wise to do the same. They are fine until something goes wrong."
